Today, we went over and removed the roof lockers overhead of the single beds just forward of the bath. This was pretty straightforward, just requiring the removal of a few screws and rivets. Harder to deal with were the lights. The light mounted on the rooflocker had connectors that almost got lost inside the skin when we pulled, and the other light was riveted from the other side of the bathroom wall (inside the pocket where the bathroom door slides, and it had a stripped screw to top it off… (more…)
First, I guess a little background info is in order. My wife and I (and then the kids, one by one) have always enjoyed camping, and for a long time we would camp in a tent at various parks, including Disney World and Assateague Island (but since this isn’t about “How much wind does it take to blow a tent down?”, I won’t go into that here.)
After several years of tenting, however, we decided that we’d had enough of sleeping at dirt level. When we were camping at Disney, we were camped next to a type of popup camper that we never saw before, with hard sides, and a decidedly “retro” feel, called an Apache. We don’t really fit into the “traditional” category, and things that are different naturally interest us more. We eventually found one for sale close to our house, and bought it.After a summer of restoring and camping in the Apache, we came to three conclusions:
